Hopefully you checked out Laura's post here from last week that explains why we've been so absent lately! We've been playing a little game called "how many major life events can you fit into one fall season." It's been tiring and exciting all at the same time. To keep you all up to speed, like Laura I'm sharing some tidbits from my life currently.
Reading: I've been going through books like mad lately, but my two most recent reads were Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (I liked it! It also helped that I knew it was a play before buying the book.) and In a Dark, Dark Wood (because thrillers are my life blood).
Watching: Like Laura, I'm sucked into This Is Us. I've also been watching Last Week Tonight with John Oliver to give some comedic relief to the political nightmare unfolding around us. Consider this your Kindly Kentucky PSA to go vote today if you have not already!
Eating: This Apple Walks Into a Bar cereal bars from Trader Joe's. One of my friends introduced me to these while in Denver, and I think they are a much tastier version of NutriGrain bars. I've been grabbing one for breakfast or a mid-afternoon snack lately.
Wearing: These nude ballet flats. I seem to need a new pair of nude flats every year or so since I wear them out from constant use, but these are my favorites so far and at a great price. The pointy toe just really adds something!
Using: My crockpot. It's the perfect time of year for toasty, slow cooked meals. I love this super simple recipe for pulled bbq chicken. Lately I've been pairing it with homemade cornbread and some tasty fall veggies, like roasted butternut squash.
Wanting: For our trip to New York to get here already! Ryan and I are visiting NYC (staying here in Brooklyn) in December and already have all the Christmas-time activities on our list like ice skating, going to see the Rockettes, and checking out the tree in Rockefeller Center. Any suggestions of things we must see and do while in the city?
Considering: When should Ryan and I take the plunge to buy a house?! Our lease ends in April, and we are tiring of our renters lifestyle/already out of storage in our little townhome. There are so many things to think about like where in Louisville we want to be located, how many bedrooms do we really need, and should we look for a deal on a fixer upper or spring for the move-in ready option? So many exciting and terrifying decisions to come.
