Today is the first day of class at UK, and coincidentally, probably the only day of the semester that I’ll wear heels while teaching. Who am I kidding… I’m actually wearing wedges. Anyways, to beat the back-to-school blues, Jay and I have a trip to California planned next month.
The trip is a compromise of sorts. We’re heading to Yosemite for three days to rough it, which is what Jay is most looking forward to, before heading to Sonoma for three days to indulge in all wine country has to offer, which is what I’m most excited about. While Jay has spent some time in the state, I’ve only been to the San Diego and La Jolla area, so to say I’m looking forward to the trip is an understatement. We’ll also be in San Francisco for about a day and a half, and like a classic tourist, my priority is to see the Golden Gate Bridge and Full House. I know that Jay will make a point to take me to some unique neighborhoods since he is somewhat familiar with the city.
I like to plan ahead and create itineraries for upcoming trips, but I’ve been fairly relaxed about this one. We’ve made our major reservations, but haven’t planned many daily schedules yet.
I’d love to hear from you! What are your must-do, must-see, and must-eat/drink places in Sonoma, San Francisco, and Yosemite?
