While I like to read throughout the year, there's something about vacation that makes me want to read constantly. I love the opportunity to read all day long completely free of guilt. After the wedding (more on that later!), I was especially excited to crack open a few new books while on our honeymoon in St. Lucia.
Eight Hundred Grapes | I picked this book up on a whim after hearing that it was good. It had all the great details of any beach read, but I especially liked this one because it takes place in Sonoma, which isn't a setting that normally pops up in the books that I read. If you're looking for a good light read that pairs perfectly with a glass of wine, then Eight Hundred Grapes should be your number one pick.
The Woman in Cabin 10 | Give me all the thrillers. This was by far my favorite book I read while on vacation, and I polished it off in 24 hours. The Woman in Cabin 10 sent chills down my back within the first five pages and kept me guessing right up until the end. If you enjoyed Gone Girl, Girl on the Train, or Luckiest Girl Alive, then you're definitely going to want to give this one a read.
The Matchmaker and The Island | Elin Hilderbrand writes the quintessential beach read, in my opinion. Whenever I found two of her books on the clearance table at Barnes and Noble, I picked them up knowing that they would be the perfect thing to give my mind a break to just enjoy something fun and lighthearted. The Matchmaker and The Island, taking place on Nantucket and Tuckernuck Island respectively, are two of the more enjoyable books I've read by Hilderbrand, and I would certainly recommend them for your next vacation or staycation!
