Happy first Friday of February! Is February anyone else's least favorite month? I tend to power through the first couple of weeks by putting out a couple cheery Valentine's Day decorations, but by the second half of the month, I'm usually itching for spring. Since past couple of weeks have been pretty heavy, today's post is light and fun (and unintentionally sweets-heavy) as we head into the weekend.
Did you know that mason jars screw onto most blenders? I've been making simple smoothies in the mornings before work to take as a mid-morning snack. I combine a large handful of spinach with frozen berries, almond milk, and half of a banana. Sweet and satisfying when my stomach starts grumbling for lunch around 10:30 AM.
These look amazing and not sooo unhealthy!
If you're a fan of Serial and Up and Vanished, there's a new podcast coming out next month that looks like a must-listen!
It's Girl Scout Cookie season! My neighborhood girl scout stopped by the other night, and I ordered more boxes than I should have. I'm really excited to try the new s'more cookie this year! If you haven't seen this Girl Scout's brutally honest review of the cookies, you should check it out now. Hilarious!
Like many others, I've worked towards being more mindful in lots of everyday situations, and over the past couple of years, I've been more consistent in practicing yoga every week. I struggle with meditation though. I enjoyed reading this meditation guide and hope to start making some progress with meditation this month. If you have any helpful tips, please send them my way!
We're heading to Nashville in a couple of weeks for a Vandy basketball game and are staying at the Germantown Inn. Germantown is the Nashville neighborhood I'm least familiar with, and I'm so excited to try some new restaurants and get better acquainted with that part of the city. I've heard great things about Silo, Butchertown Hall, and Rolf & Daughters. Let me know if you have other recommendations!
